YOUR PREFERRED HANDYMAN..............
REFERENCES ARE FURTHER DOWN.
I'm happily married to the love of my life, Karen. We live in Lee's Summit, although I'm a North of the River guy. I drive an average of 85 miles a day, if not more. How does every gas station know to change their prices all at the same time? That's got to be the best kept secret I guess.. Every station changes their prices around 7 AM and who makes that call?
I've been a handyman all my life. It all started here:
Besides the handyman trade, this sparked my idea to dabble in the fireworks business.........Oh, and learn electricity the hard way....
It's not an easy business and everyday at Home Depot, or where ever I'm shopping that morning. I see the handymen that might make it if they are there at 7 AM. I look at their trucks to see what they're driving and how much junk they have in their truck bed. Just by looking, I can tell if they'll make it or not and what they're doing. I look to see if they have signs plastered all over their truck. My first thought is how can they afford that and if your that good; first, why do you have to advertise and secondly, why ruin a paint job on that truck? Third, the best handymen don't have to advertise. I don't. Well, I want to - I just don't want to ruin a good truck. In the 1800's, if you were Jesse James, you didn't brand your horse with BANK ROBBER!

I grew up in Riverside, Missouri. To keep from boring you with details, I'm like the Forest Gump in handyman world. I've taught archaeology (for Maple Woods CC), my college training was meteorology (bet that's a shock). I worked for Kansas City TV, Fox 4 in 1995 for about a week for Gary Lezak in the mornings. I couldn't handle the 2 AM to 9 AM hours. I've been elected to the City council in Riverside twice and lost the third time in a tie. Riverside is famous for tie votes. It happened to my cousin Kurt, the same day 20 years later. Through the years I've shook hands with JFK and Ronald Reagan. I used my meterological experience to crest the flood of 93' (officially- before anybody else) and General Motors used my flood forecasts to schedule their shifts at the KCK Fairfax Plant. I saw the Beatles in 1964 at Municipal Stadium and we didn't shake hands. I was only 9. I've written two books, two screenplays (and have an agent). Life has been go to me. Just Google Gary Brenner and see what pops up.

My best training comes from my dad. He's the ultimate craftsman for everything in the world from fine furniture to having every tool in the world. When I wasn't doing part time jobs, my dad was not only my boss, but the best teacher in the world - and still is. My grandpa was like that and so was his grandpa and all the way back to 1843 when the Brenner's settled what is now Riverside, MO. My dad, David Brenner was Eastern Platte County Commisioner from about 1984 to 1992.
Handymen aren't bankers or doctors or lawyers and there's nothing wrong with those people. We need em'. But, I was trained to use my hands as a craftsman, as a handyman. Doctors are always "practicing" their work. Us handymen can't get away with just practicing. It has to be right every time or we do it over for free ---Gezz, what if Doctors had to do that?????? Luckily, we normally don't kill anybody doing it. My eyes are a little weaker, so I wear glasses, actually several. When I can't find them, my hands already know what to do.
I owned an apartment complex for 20 years and did everything myself and that's where I really learned to be a handyman. I just got bored with doing the same faucet repair or the same apartment maintenance and got tired of wearing a beeper to bed (before cell phones) strapped to my underpants.

(what's important is none of the above people know each other--they got me by word of mouth)
Email me for references. I won't post their numbers over the internet.
I do a lot of work through Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. NNI.

NNI is for people who've been busted by the City for code violations and need to Git er' Done. That's where I come in.
I've even trained one of my cats to be a Preferred Handycat. I'm an animal lover.
